Messy Museum Day: Curious Canopics
Last updated: 01/03/2024
Curious Canopics – The Ancient Egyptians used four canopic jars in the mummification process, one for each organ of the body. Make your own mini version of one of these jars from air-drying clay. Why not visit the From the Nile to Newbury special exhibition about Ancient Egypt after this activity and do a free trail, self-guided tour and other gallery activities. Aimed at 7-11 year olds, but younger and older children are welcome. An adult must remain with the child throughout the session.. Please dress for mess, although disposable aprons will be available for the messier crafts. You are welcome to bring a reusable apron. Last entry for the activity is 2.45pm. Friday 16 August | West Berkshire Museum | 10am-3pm | £2.50 | drop-in
