Search by filter
Filtered searches allow you to refine results using one or more filters.
To run a filtered search:
- Go to the West Berkshire Directory homepage
- Click Adults, Families or SEND Local Offer to display all the services on each section of the site. This opens up a list of Filters appropriate to the section you clicked on.
- Use the Filters on the panel on the left-hand side, such as:
- service types, such as bereavement or community support

- expand a filter heading by clicking the arrow icon
- select a subfilter by ticking the checkbox
- supporting people with – specific needs, such as dementia or mental health
- or other filters.... such as Free activity?
TIPS
- filter headings have sub-filters within them. If you go to a filter heading, and click several of the sub-filters within it, your search results list will increase, and will combine the results
- if you choose sub-filters under several different filter headings, your search results may decrease
- to reset your search to start a new one, you click 'Reset All Filters' (located under the filter list)
- you can use a combination of the filters and search bar too!
Refining your search for local results
- Use the Search by postcode panel. This is available on the home page, or under 'Location' when in any of the three main sections.
- Enter a full postcode.
- Choose a distance.
- Click the Search button or press Apply Location.
TIPS
- at any time you can click the ‘Show Map’ button to see your results on a map
- you can narrow down the search by postcode if you wish, but please note that some national organisations have not listed postcodes so these will be eliminated from the search at that point
- you don't have to use the postcode search, instead you could type the place name in the search bar, ie 'Hungerford', although this is less accurate and relies on that word being in the listing
