Interakt Community Charity - Creative Arts and Independent Living
Last updated: 27/02/2024
InteraKt is a local charity based in Newbury, West Berkshire. We support young people and adults with learning, physical and sensory challenges by providing a whole host of creative opportunities in dance, drama, film-making, arts & crafts, and life skills.
We believe that creativity enables our participants to fulfil their potential; they thrive in the safe, friendly and professional environment we provide, with regular access to creative classes enabling them to develop skills and maintain a strong sense of identity and purpose.
We offer a holistic approach to meet the needs of each individual regardless of their ability; we provide exciting opportunities, friendships, fun, creativity, confidence, and an increased sense of empowerment.
As well as running daily classes and clubs, we offer a range of specific creative workshops, including the chance to work alongside professional actors and filmmakers to produce spectacular shows with our participants at the heart of every performance.
Interakt also offers one-to-one support in session and in the community, travel training, CV writing, interview coaching and leisure-based activities such as swimming and going to the cinema. We provide a range of exciting and informative outings to reinforce creative learning.
Creativity isn’t just a performance or a piece of music, it’s a way of life and at InteraKt we create new possibilities every day.
We have a wide range of creative and life skills classes on offer. Our team would love to welcome you to join in the fun. Visit our website at https://interakt.org to find out more or contact us at enquiries@interakt.org.uk

Interakt does not require a referral as our sessions are for everyone and if an individual has very complex needs then with support from WBC Adult Social Care a specific care plan will be commissioned.
- Other notes
For those transitioning from College to Adult Social Care contact WBC Adult Social Care and request a list from the transitioning team which will have details of Day Providers, their activities, sessions, days and times. Remember that your provision is your choice therefor make time to research and book a free taster session with those providers which you want to explore further. For those already in the Adult Social Care sector who require another service from a different provider to what they already have, contact Adult Social Care and ask to speak to your social worker or care manager with your query or request. The most important thing is for each individual to access a service that is of their own choice that each individual is informed of a variety of provisions in order to make an informed choice which works best for them.
