Dingley Child Development Centre is a hub resource providing Community Paediatric care to children in the West of Berkshire.  We also hold clinics at West Berkshire Community Hospital and several of the specialist schools in the area.

We are co-located with Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and some Speech and Language Therapists covering this area (see separate sheet for referral details). We provide seamless care with our acute Paediatric colleagues.

We accept referrals from the child’s GP or Hospital Consultant.  We see children where there are concerns about neglect and abuse at the request of Social Services.  We see children undergoing a multiagency assessment as part of the Statementing/EHC process.

We have several specialist services, for example Botulinum toxin service for children with Cerebral Palsy; specialist visual and hearing clinics.  We host Genetics and Neurology clinics outreached from Oxford.

Single level modular accommodation with wheelchair access.  Hoist is available if required.  Translators are used where required, including British Sign Language.

Children are seen at other locations to aid professional communication, and reduce transportation.  For example, at West Berkshire Community Hospital, or at a number of Specialist Schools.

Information sheets on a number of services are available in our Parents Room.

Where a parent has a learning Disability, we have the option to use the adult LD nurse to assist the consultation, upon request.

The Posture Management Clinic aims to ensure that children are receiving 24 hour posture management from a co-ordinated team of experts. For more information please see leaflet.
