Service is delivered to all adult patients (over 16) with a learning disability

The Learning Disability Liaison Nurse is a central contact at the hospital for families, service users, carers, community health and social welfare professionals and housing providers.

The LD liaison nurse:

  • Facilitates reasonable adjustments for people with a learning disability who are using either in-patient or out-patient services at the hospital.
  • Provides advice and support to staff within the hospital about how best to meet the needs of patients with a learning disability while they are using the services here.

There are a series of easy read leaflets available explaining some of the more common investigations that we do here and information also about some departments. These can be accessed by requesting them from the Learning Disability Liaison Nurses via email, or from the website Accessibility - Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust

Easy read information about other investigations, conditions and treatment can also be provided on request.
