Crossroads offer support for carers which includes:
- A trained carer to stay with someone at home while the carer has a break to go shopping or pursue an interest. These are self-funded packages of care (care is assessed on an individual basis to suit the care needs). Support workers will care for a loved one with care needs to enable the Carer to take a break. An assessment is required to participate and there is a charge which includes lunch and activities. Transport is not provided.
- 'Forget Me Nots' respite breaks, offered to people living with dementia or a disability, on Saturdays fortnightly at The Phoenix Resource Centre in Newbury. This service is not currently running due to lack of numbers. Please do get in touch if you are interested as we are keen to get this restarted
- Provide with sufficient notice, cover for the Cared for to enable his/her 24/7 Carer to attend appointments. Transport is not provided.
- Crossroads offer, subject to availability and capacity, a free Rapid Response Service providing care within 48 hours in emergencies.
- Possible emergency cover, office hours only. 07.00 to 16.00, regional office Oxfordshire Crossroads 01865 260280, messages can be left on both sites.
- A service for children with a disability. Oxford Crossroads 01825 260280. Crossroads West Berks cannot provide care for children.
Crossroads Care West Berkshire operates an emergency out of hours number for Crossroads clients only.
