Welcome to EMED Patient Care EMED Patient Care provides non-emergency patient transport services (NEPTS) in partnership with your local NHS, helping patients who qualify for patient transport to travel to and from their NHS healthcare appointments safely and comfortably.

What is NEPTS?

Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services, sometimes shortened to NEPTS, is a specialist transport service working in partnership with the NHS to transport patients in and out of NHS clinics and hospitals. NEPTS is a vital part of the healthcare system and transports millions of patients every year. NEPTS is a limited resource, which is free for NHS patients who need it most. NEPTS is not the same as a private taxi service, it’s funded by the NHS and designed for people with specific medical or mobility needs who can’t access their NHS healthcare appointments any other way. EMED Patient Care carefully plans resources to make sure everyone gets to their appointment on time and home again afterwards. Every day new journeys are added at short notice and there are often last minute changes. This requires huge amounts of coordination and planning as our teams work quickly to adjust schedules so we can support all patients. Our commitment is to keep you informed throughout and we appreciate your patience as we work hard to get you safely to where you need to be.
