End of Life Care Support Group, Soul Midwife

A Soul Midwife can help to ease the anxiety and fear of death by offering time and a listening ear to the person who is dying, and to their loved ones. This is especially important as there are questions that people need to ask or things they need to share, but there isn't always the right person, space or opportunity to do this - your Soul Midwife can offer that space and opportunity.

A Soul Midwife works with the dying to provide comfort and support to them and to their loved ones, through the dying process.  Soul Midwifery is non-religious and can be engaged in by anyone of any or no belief system.

A Soul Midwife treats each individual holistically and individually, supporting them in maintaining their independence and choice. Support can be to an individual who is dying at home, in a hospice or in a hospital, visiting them in any of these locations.  Anyone with a friend or relative diagnosed with a terminal illness or with an elderly relative may, at any time, find themselves needing to care for them. Many vital services are provided to support the person being cared for: there are far fewer for the carer.

WORKSHOP  A small and informal workshop gives you an opportunity to meet other non-professional carers.  Soul Midwife Claire Ball is able to offer non medical support.  We will show you relaxation and breathing techniques to use with your loved one and talk about coping with expectations and emotions.  Come along to our NEXT MEETING - Bookings are required:

Friday 27th May, 12 to 4.00pm at Leckhampstead Village Hall, RG20 8QG

Cost: £20 to include refreshments and cake!  (Should you wish to come along but are unable to afford the fee please say.  We are passionate about supporting everyone needing help).

Individuals can then either continue to come and meet in a group environment or we can work on a one to one basis.
