Autism Berkshire Let's Get Chatting course for autistic young people and adults

This free course for adults on the autism spectrum, aged 16 or over, helps to develop social communication skills and understanding.

Developed by members of our team, the course is run for small groups, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Topics covered during the course include: Why we have conversations; body language; conversation volume and tone; facial expressions; eye contact; joining a conversation; and ending a conversation.

The course is made up of seven weekly two-hour classes.

The next course is for autistic young people aged 16 to 19, who have a diagnosis or who are waiting for a Berkshire CAMHS autism assessment, and are registered with a GP surgery in the Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire council areas.

It will take place online on the following Monday evenings, from 6pm to 8pm: October 31, November 7, 14, 21 and 28, December 5 and 12.

  • Courses for 16 to 25-year-olds are funded by Berkshire West NHS as part of the Berkshire West Autism & ADHD Support Service.
