Happy Kids is located within a primary school but operates independantly. It offers term time only provision for children aged from two to school entry. We are open monday to friday 9am until 3pm and attendance hours are flexible. We also offer wrap a round care the the children who attend Winchcombe School foundation unit enabling families of have full day care.

We also offer some holiday provision for children from two until sixteen years of age.

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

We operate a key person system and will liaise regularly regarding each childs' development and support to enable them to fully engage in all acitivities on offer.

We also speak everyday to the main carer when families arrive and also upon collection.

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

Through regular chats and sharing of information on each and every child.

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

In whatever way is possible and each child is unique and therefore it is hard to answer this question. We will and can adapt the environment to meet any physical needs but also will review and adapt provision for any other needs.

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

We are a ECAT setting and have two ELLP's who support children with communication. We can offer visual timetables if this is felt to support a child with transitions.

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

Any support is assessed on each child and we are very willing to provide any support but each family and each child is very different.

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

Each child will have a key person who will monitor development, liaise with the familyand feed into the planning any support for their key children. This will be overseen by the settings SENCO.

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

We do not have trips but ALL children are included and we do not see children with additional or SEND as any different. All acitivities will be adapted if required.

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

Our building is fairly new and is equiped for people with mobility difficulties incuding our outdoor space.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

We welcome visits from schools to see the children in our setting and we attend picnics etc to schools and attend along with the children. This helps children with the new setting but still having familiar adults.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

We build good strong links with families and our ethos is to make families feel welcome and part of us. Parents working in partnership is vital for all children.

We take feedback very seriously and use this to adapt our proivision where necessary. Each family has different requirements and we will attempt to meet most families needs wherever possible.

Building good relationships gives families to freedom to discuss any concerns when they arise.
