Interested in playing chess, either seriously or socially? Newbury Chess Club meets at Woolton Hill Church Hall most Thursday evenings from 7.30pm until 10.00 pm. The season runs from September to the following May. As well as social chess, we enter one or more teams in the Berkshire Chess League playing other teams from Reading, Maidenhead, Camberley etc.

- Membership fee: is currently £30 per term (£10 for juniors) or £4 per visit (£2 per visit). There is no charge for the few occasions we open in the summer term - we usually take a break from June - August. There are additional charges for match players, such as league fees and a requirement for English Chess Federation membership for regular match players.
