A local history course with David Peacock. 8 weeks from Tuesday 17 January (excluding February half term holiday of Tuesday 14 February) until Tuesday 14 March 2023, 1.30pm-3.30pm each Tuesday afternoon.

Local Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, the origin of many place-names in the Newbury area, the growth of Christianity, and West Berkshire just before the Norman Conquest will be among the topics in this 8-week course. Sites along the Lambourn Valley, including East Shefford, will be among those covered, along with a look at the range of source material available to find out about Anglo-Saxon finds near where you live.

David Peacock has researched, written about and taught the history of West Berkshire and the Newbury area for many years.
