THIS PROVIDER HAS NOT UPDATED IN OVER A YEAR AND THEREFORE THE INFORMATION IS LIKELY TO BE OUT OF DATE.
My home is a three bedroom house situated on an off the road path and for the purposes of Childminding I use the Living Room, Dining room, Garden, Kitchen and downstairs toilet. My home is located on a residential estate, on a quiet walk way close to the A4, which is a major road providing easy access to the Town Centre and M4 motorway. I also have several pets – two rabbits and a cat. As previously mentioned I have a garden to the rear of the property which can be accessed via a side gate from the front of the property or via a set of French Doors at the back of my Dining room and through the kitchen door. There are currently no lifts or ramps (however ramps can be provided) at access points to the property however, there is one step on both points. My current working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 18:00. There are no additional adults working as support staff at this time.

Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings
I have had training to look out for significant learning difficulties in a child. One being to closely monitor the child’s progress and can identify many issues against other children of a similar age and the Early Years Outcomes. I always make sure that I take parents’ concerns seriously when issues are raised around SEND. I make sure they know that I am committed to helping them, by giving my time for discussion whenever they need to discuss an issue.
If I identify an issue, I will work with the parents to find a convenient time for them to visit me to discuss the issue. I will talk them through the observations and any assessments.
I will discuss all changes and additional needs with the parents, depending on the type of additional needs their child requires.
I will ensure that an activity/learning plan is put in place, that is achievable for the child but which also offers challenges. I am happy to work with the family discuss their feelings on the learning plan that I develop.
As the setting is my home, I can offer all the comforts that the child is used to and familiar with on a daily basis. This will hopefully make the child feel at ease and comfortable in my setting.
I will work closely with parents on this by having regular discussions and also providing a daily diary. If I feel that additional support is required (above and beyond what they may be receiving) I will discuss these with parents and let them know of any additional support.
I always carry out risk assesments for any new places of interest. I will make sure that the trips are always accessable and suitable for a child with SEND.
I have one step into my home, a ramp can be provided, should this be required. All facilities are provided downstairs and my patio doors lead out to a flat garden.
I will work closely with other settings to support transitions. I am able to set up and plan activities to prepare the child for their new setting.
I welcome input from parents on how they think I can adapt my setting to focus more on their child's needs and to make sure that the parents are completely confident in the care I am providing.
