I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Newbury. I offer school drop offs and pick ups to Parsons Down infants and juniors schools.
I have 3 years experience working as a childminding assistant and 5 years experience working with disabilities such as autism and epilepsy. I also have two children of my own aged 6 and 9 one of whom is autistic.
I have a wide range of toys to cover all areas of learning and a good outdoors space with a variety of garden toys.
I often visit local parks. We sometimes visit soft play and have outings to places such as the farm.

Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings
All children are identified as individuals regardless of disability. Every child has their own personal needs that are to be met. Care plans and risk assessments are put into place and followed to protect and care for all children to the best of my abilities.
Communication with parents/carers is vital. Daily journals are completed and handed over to parents daily.
I make termly activity plans to cover all 7 areas of learning and to suit all age ranges.
I am able to communicate with Makaton and provide social stories if needed. I will adapt every activity to suit needs of all individuals within my setting.
My daughter is SEND and I have 5 years experience working with disabilities. I have recently had training in a sensory workshops provided by the NHS. I’ve also had training in autism awareness, epilepsy, medication, equality and diversity. I feel I personally am fully trained to support individuals with extra care needs.
I will track learning via learning journals and work towards the next steps for each individual that I create.
I will always plan everything in advance and adapt activities and outings to Suit all needs by using risk assements and activity plans.
Unfortunately being a rented property with concrete steps my house is not wheelchair friendly and I’m unable to adapt this.
I will transfer all learning journals to the new setting and discuss with the children about where they are going and incorporate this into activities.
By keeping leading journals I can track the development of every child and see what next steps need to be taken. Parents are able to view these daily and have their own sections to fill in any comments.

Journals have a section daily for parents comments. I also welcome any discussion on drop offs and pick ups. Ofsteds number is also available within my procedures which parents can access at any time
