Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings
Every child has a diary, learning journal and this can be seen at anytime by the parents, individual achievments are detailed and can be seen by parents. I do this electronically. Parents are asked to contribute towards the early years framework and add their own observations and thoughts. I am always observing all the children in my care on a regular basis, I am also always available to disscuss any concerns about the childs developmental progress.
I will continue to work closely with the parents to involve and liaise with them. I am always willing to learn more so I will follow advice from professionals and training. I am also a member of PACEY who offer me a range of extra course I can participate in.
I will give your child confidence, encouragement and as much support as I possibly can. I will help them achieve their learning goals and help them gain self esteem, Independence which will help with their school life ahead.
I use the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum as a guide for the children in my setting and refer to it from time to time. I look at the age of the child and their abilities, every child is at a different stage. I plan accordingly to the age and stage of every child so that all can be involved. I use what the child is interested in to encourage the child's participation. I feel that it is very important for the children at my setting to explore indoors and outdoors so their learning is encouraged at every available moment.
I also take the children to groups, such as music, or gymnastics to help develop the childrens skill sets.
I have never had any children at my setting with additional needs or learning difficultes but if i do have children with these needs I would bring in extra resources. I would work closely with professionals to give me extra advice and understanding in this area. I would also provide extra resource suited to a particular childin my setting could understand and communicate better.
I look at the age of the child and their abilities, every child is different and at a different stage of development. I plan according to the age and stage of every child so that all can be involved

I treat every child the same but adapt activites and trips to there abilites, individual health and needs. All trips are risk assessed but before taking the child out on the trip I always seek advice and guidence from the parent so the child is safe, secure and able to benefit from the trip by enjoying themselves while learning
My home is not suitable for Wheelchair users as it is very busy and my bathroom is upstairs making access difficult.
Transition from one setting to another can be both worrying for the parents and the child concerned. As part of my job I feel that I should make the transition go as smooth as possible by being part of the child's settling in session to a new environment. This can be done by me dropping them off and collecting them plus being on hand for any questions they may have. Also I could take all their work and learning journal to their new setting.
My regular panning and observations helps me to meet each child's individual needs. Each child has their own daily diary on an app called baby's days. I also communicate and talk to the parents on regular basis so the parents can give some input also to their child's development on pick up and drop off. Via message or phone when conviniet to parents. All the information I gain is used to plan enjoyable activities and experiences across all areas of their development and learning.

Parents are fully aware of my complaints procedure, but I would rather that they would talk to me first to resolve anything that they are not happy with.
I gain regular feedback from parents with parent questionnaires and I also have complaints forms where they can let me know in what areas they feel that I could improve in.
I also recommend feedback while chatting to them as we have a very good working relationship where they know that I like to hear feed back and to hear what they think about my service to their child in my setting.
