Becky Loring - Childminder (Doodle Dots childcare)

Last updated: 10/01/2023

Registered since 2014 years, I live with my husband and 3 children on the outskirts of Burghfield common. I work, together with another Childminder (Jenni Jackson) to offer a welcoming village setting providing childcare for early years and school age children.  This is a lovely environment where all children can have fun and learn in a safe and nurturing setting for children of all ages.

please contact me for up to date availability and look on my Facebook page for more info. Search for Doodle Dots childcare.

Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

By looking at their early years goals and identifying any areas we consider an issue. We would then work with the parent, other childcare providers and external agencies.

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

We aim to work with parents to ensure a child is fully supported. We do this through discussion, using learning journeys and completing daily diaries

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

This would be considered and adapted to suit the individual child.

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

Children's progress is monitored regularly using Babysdays on line learning journals. These are accessible to parents at all times.

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

All children are included in the activities and trips, these are adapted to suit each childs ability and are assessed for safety and suitability before hand.

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

Its a family home, so not very accessible as hasn't been adapted.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

As required by the EYFS. All children are supported when transitioning to a new setting or school.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

Ongoing evaluation

11: Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?

Becky Loring

12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?

We use Babysdays to register all compliments and complaints. We are also available for face to face discussions and more than happy to arrange a separate time to discuss any feedback or concerns arising.
