Interakt Community Monday DJ music and VJ visual, karaoke, dance, instrumental and games every Monday
Last updated: 17/01/2022
"Holistic approach for meeting the needs of each individual to engage and achieve in a safe and supporting environment"
Create and develop visual affects (VJ), learn musical skills in disc jockey (DJ).
Have fun with your favourite music, learn skills in mixing music, visual effects and DJ software.
In the DJ sessions participants focus on learning the skills of selecting and presenting their favourites to others, by using CD or Vinyl turntables. Skills developed include operation of musical equipment and technology, musical appreciation and playing music in succession to entertain, motivate others and enjoy.
Interakt endeavour to meet the needs of each individual regardless of their ability so that they may experience exciting opportunities, friendships, fun, creativity, confidence and increased sense of empowerment to be all that they can and want to be.
Sessions are designed so that each group can support another group; for example the DJ music group will create the song play list for the Annual Fashion Show or for the Christmas Disco; the Film Club will film, edit and create a DVD for the groups who perform a play like the Friday Dramatised Story Telling group.
Interakt also offers one to one support in sessions, travel training, out in the community, CV writing and job coaching.

- Referral Details
For those transitioning from College to Adult Social Care contact WBC Adult Social Care and request a list from the transitioning team which will have details of Day Providers, their activities, sessions, days and times. Remember that your provision is your choice therefor make time to research and book a free taster session with those providers which you want to explore further. For those already in the Adult Social Care sector who require another service from a different provider to what they already have, contact Adult Social Care and ask to speak to your social worker or care manager with your query or request. The most important thing is for each individual to access a service that is of their own choice that each individual is informed of a variety of provisions in order to make an informed choice which works best for them.
Interakt does not require a referral as our sessions are for everyone and if an individual has very complex needs then with support from West Berkshire Council's Adult Social Care a specific care plan will be commissioned.
- Other notes
Interakt supports young adults and adults with learning disabilities. This generic terminology refers to a whole range of challenges which may impact learning, social skills, confidence, physical ability, sensory challenges, life skills and work experience. Free taster sessions are highly recommended as we are convinced that it has to be the right choice in order to benefit and embrace one's potential, to have fun, make new friends and live life to the fullest.
