Purley Pre-School is a well established local community Pre-School serving the communities of Purley on Thames, Tilehurst, Pangbourne and surrounding areas.
We are able to offer flexibility with two sessions per day and breakfast club available for parents that need an earlier start.
Breakfast is available from 7.30am to 9am at a cost of £8.50 per day, or 8.15am to 9am at a cost of £4.30. Alternatively you can use our drop off at 8.30am costing £2.95 per day for an earlier start without breakfast. All options can be included in your 15 or 30 hours of funding and are payable per term, although we are happy with ad hoc requests.
Our Morning Session operates from 9am to 12 noon, then an afternoon session from 12 noon to 3pm with a lunch club from 12 noon to 12.30pm which is FREE for children attending the afternoon session otherwise we ask a small fee of £3.00. Our fee breakdown is detailed below.
We are committed to the well-being and safety of all children, with an emphasis on promoting children's self-reliance, self-confidence, self esteem and effective learning skills to allow them to learn and achieve their full potential.
We welcome children with additional needs or SEND.

Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings
We observe, assess and track children's progress against developmental stages in order to identify delay/advancement and plan for the indivdual needs of the child.
We regularly discuss children's development during staff/planning meetings.
Each child will have a keyperson who will speak to parents informally on a regular basis for a continual exchange of information and are available for pre-arranged formal discussions.
We compile Learning Journey's which parent's are able to view on request.
We produce twice yearly, written summaries and hold annual Parent's evenings.
We provide appropriate resources, flexible and differentiated activities and ensure accessibility for all children according to the individual needs of each child and in discussion with parents and in co-ordination with other agencies.
We adapt our strategies according to the needs and interests of the child and in consultation with parents/carers and appopriate outside agencies. We access appropriate training to ensure that the needs of the children are best met.
Staff have basic Makaton training
We use visual prompts and cues.
A member of staff is an Early Language Practitioner, who provides advice to staff on appropriate strategies for language development.
Staff keep their skills up to date through training.
We provide 1-1 support, if required.
We have a quiet area for reflection and rest.
We work closely with outside agencies.
We are part of the scheme Every Child a Talker (ECAT)
We have a designated SENCo
We attend training appropriate to the needs of the individual child.
Children with special needs will be given SAPP (Support and Achievement Play Plan), which are agreed with parent's and appropriate outside agencies to ensure they meet the individual needs of the child, These are regularly reviewed and parent's reguarly updated on their progress.
All activities are made available to all children and differentiated according to the needs of the individual child and additional support will be provided, as necessary.
Our classrooms have an access ramp for ease of access into the classroom and outside area and a disabled toilet.
All children have a transitional report on leaving the setting and we have contact with local schools. Those who have been identified as requiring additional support, we will work closely with other settings/school to ensure a smooth transition.
We review our provision regularly, informally and in staff and planning meetings and ask parents/carers for their input.
We ask advice from other agencies, with permission from Parents/carers.

Parents are provided with opportunities throughout the year to comment on provision.
Staff are always available and will make time for discussion with parents so that any immediate concerns can be dealt with straightaway.
We ask for feed back from parents/carers on a child's twice yearly summary.
Policies and procedures, including those for making a complaint are easily available for parents to view.
