Berkshire Autism Alert Card

The Berkshire Autism Alert Card is available free of charge to anyone with a formal diagnosis of an autism spectrum condition.
The scheme is managed by Autism Berkshire on behalf of the alert card working group.
All applications must be accompanied by a copy of documentation showing proof of a diagnosis. Proof can include a diagnosis letter, or a statement letter from a professional, such as a doctor, paediatrician, psychologist, social worker or school, or a medical report or assessment.
The cards should be carried at all times and can be shown if the individual or their parent or carer finds themselves in a situation where they cannot easily explain their behaviour.
The card gives some simple advice, the person’s name and emergency contact details.
It will help those presented with a card know how to help the card holder and it will also assist you in identifying that you are dealing with someone with autism.
