ROAR - Supported Volunteering in Countryside and Environment Maintenance

Add to My Shortlist

Providing opportunities to volunteer in an outdoor environment within the local community, through the Rangers on Active Response (R.O.A.R) group. This provides opportunities for you to take part in outdoor activities and maintain the natural environment. Activities include footpath clearance and maintenance, litter picking and fly-tipping clearance.

If the weather is not good, alternative activities are arranged at other locations, the Community Re-use Centre at Bone Lane in Newbury and the Growing 2gether Project at Cottismore.  Here, you can learn other skills such as woodwork, bicycle repair and gardening.  You will work in small groups, with the support of a Mentoring Officer, in a safe, supportive, friendly environment.  You also get the benefit of knowing that the activities you carry out will help others in the local community.
