1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

Through close monitoring and observations.  

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

Individual pupil profile/ Learning Journey.  We would share info where a particular log or SAPP (Support & Achievement Play Plan) were being written/kept. 

Regular face to face discussions, reports, termly profile reports which are accessible at any time.  Open door policy.

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

We treat every child individually.  We plan for each child. 

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

Through one to one modeling play.  Staff attending training courses tailored to specific needs.  We are an ECAT setting. 

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

To provide for support we would apply for 1:1 support funding.

 

 

 

 

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

We work closely to parents by feeding back and involving them at all stages through to transition to school. We also use an online observation tracker which parents can access.   Ongoing assessments and observations.

 

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

We provide large staff to child ratios and are able to provide individual support where necessary. 

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

We are a village hall location.  We have wheelchair access and disabled toilets. 

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

We have good links with local primary schools and provide a comprehensive handover/transition reporting and school visits to the setting.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

Evaluations through questionnaires and face to face discussions.

We have questionnaire feedback forms we ask all parents to complete.  We have a complaints policy and an open door policy.
