Counselling service - Ripples Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy

Ripples EFP is a mental health service run by Jan Stiff, an integrative counsellor with a qualification in equine faciliated psychotherapy. (LEAP)

Jan brings specialist experieince and understanding of families where there is a child with a disability, special needs and/or a life limiting illness, with particular experience of the impact this might have upon siblings.

Therapy is offered to adults within these families on a one to one basis.

Jan also brings experience and understanding of issues surrounding family bereavement and living with a terminal illness.

Therapy sessions are located 12 mins outside of Newbury town centre and take place outside within nature/open fields where a small herd of horses live and are free to roam. Therapy takes place with the horses acting as facilitators offering the ability to mirror and sense clients emotions as well as a sense of genuine emotional support.  

Sessions are tailored to individual clients needs. (No ridden work is undertaken and no previous experience of horses is required)

Jan offers discounted rates to clients referred from local chairities.

Jan has previously worked in the NHS and offers discounted rates to emergency and key workers.
