Is your service accessible? (consider in general terms how you make your service accessible, in addition to any specific premises issues)

All our facilities are fully accessible. Staff ensure each child participates to the best of their ability in decision making, their individual timetable, and play and leisure activities. We use a range of communication aids to enable all children to participate even if they are non-verbal. Please feel free to contact us in advance to discuss your specific needs and we will work with you to resolve any access issues as far as possible.

What are the eligibility criteria for your service? (please include any age restrictions, types of need catered for etc)

Please contact our placements and commissioning team for more information on 01737365080

How are referrals/applications made to your service? (include details of who can refer/apply and referral and application process)

We carry out individual assessments of each child if we feel a placement at The Children's Trust would be appropriate. The assessments are carried out by our multidisciplinary team in partnership with families and referrers. We have a dedicated placements and commissioning team who facilitate this and are more than happy to discuss the referral process.

What is your service standard for responding to referrals/accessing services? (include timescales for responding to referrals and accessing services)

We have a dedicated placements and commissioning team who deal with all enquiries and referrals as they are received. Please contact the team for more information on 01737365080

Are children, young people, parents / carers charged for your service?
No
Inspection outcomes/quality awards

We are inspected by Ofsted and CQC as well as carrying out our own ongoing monitoring including feedback from staff, families and children where possible.

Feedback and complaints procedure

We have a comments and complaints process which we encourage everyone to acknowledge and use.

How will I know my child will be safe using this service?

All staff and volunteers are required to complete and pass DBS prior to commencement of employment or placement. Our services are regulated by Ofsted and CQC, and we have robust safeguarding and whistle-blowing procedures to ensure the safety of the children and young people we work with. Each child has their own assessment and tailored programmes/timetables which cater for their individual needs. Safety is of paramount importance to us and ratios of staff to children are worked out in accordance with their needs. Our site is secure with all of our residential houses featuring keypad entry and all visitors must be supervised onsite. Whilst we encourage the children and young people to access play and leisure activities and the local community, this is fully-staffed and always with risk assessments having been carried out.

West Berkshire Council do not promote or endorse any of the services listed in this Directory. For more information on this please read our disclaimer.
