Community Larder at the Waterside Centre, Newbury

Community Larder
We’re delighted to be opening our own Community Larder at Waterside Centre in January 2022. This is a membership scheme which provides healthy, affordable food to the West Berkshire community which would otherwise be sent to landfill. Please refer to the poster for further information.
We will be holding a mock larder on Tuesday 11 January, 2 – 4pm – please come along to learn more and sign up to become a member. (You can sign up to the scheme at any time by contacting us.)
The Community Larder officially opens on Tuesday 18 January and will run every Tuesday, 2 – 4pm.
VOLUNTEERING - We desperately need volunteers to help run the Community Larder on Tuesday afternoons. If you can help, please contact us.
A great way for people to get the food they need at a very reasonable price. The larder is open one afternoon a week, and members can come in and choose items like tins, packets and supermarket surplus products, as well as a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Community larders are not means-tested.
The larder teams will alert people to what’s available on social media the day before they’re open so people can make time to pop along and pick up some real treats.
Volunteers at the larders can also support members with healthy eating ideas, as well as offering a welcoming place to simply come and get to know others in your neighbourhood.
