The building, is purpose built and has disabled access. The nursery is open Monday to Friday 08:00am to 18:00pm 51 weeks of the year. The nursery caters for up to a maximum of 30 children per day. Children can attend a variety of sessions each week. There are currently 65 children on role. There are thirteen staff employed to work with the children.

Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings
We respond to concerns raised by parents that their child may have SEND by face to face meetings and discussions. The child's keyworker and SEND coordinator will work alongside to support the child's learning and development in the setting. We identify children with special educational needs through observing, monitoring and tracking their milestones through the Early Years Outcomes. We inform and involve parents when their child is identified as having a SEND through regular meetings with the child's keyperson and SENCO. We use an Early Years Support and Acheievment Play Plan (SAPP) and EyLog electroncic learning journies for recording the children's assessments, targets and progress.
We communicate and involve parents concerning provision and support by meetings with the child's keyperson and SENCO to discuss and review their SAAP every eight to ten weeks.
We ensure that that the children are suported and encouraged to be independent by staff modelling play and behaviour. The nursery planning allows child initiated and adult led activities. The child's keyperson plans activities to support and encourage the children to progress towards and acheive their next steps for learning in all of their seven areas of development. We use observation, assessment and planning to support provision for SEND and we involve parents by sharing their childs's next steps for learning. We use an electronic learning journey system for all of the children and parents receive observations, photographs and videos.
We currently use the following teaching strategies to support children with specific needs, visual aids including flash cards and visual timetables with photographs.
We provide the following additional support for children with additional needs by delivering interventions in small group and one to one sessions. We support children with difficulties with social skills, communication and behaviour by using identifying observations such as, Antecedents, Behaviour and Consequences (ABC). We follow our behaviour management policy. We access the following additional support services, East Family Wellbeing Hub, Speech and Language therapists and West Berkshire Early Years Advisors. We communicate with parents about the support services that we consider for their child through face to face conversations, discussions and reviews of their child's SAAP. We ensure the advice given by support services is implemented by the child's keyperson and SENCO by including this on their weekly planning and next steps for learning .
We assess the children's progress through tracking their development against the Early Years Outcomes and the two year old progress check. We would review children who have been identified with SEND through their SAAP every eight to ten weeks.We include parents in reviews of progress including setting targets by inviting them to meetings with their child's keyperson and SENCO. We share information about a child's progress when they attend another setting through the use of a communication diary and the child's keyperson visiting the other setting.
We ensure we make reasonable adjustments for children with SEND through having an understanding of their needs. Annual risk assessments are carried out within the nursery environment. We communicate and involve parents in preparing for and undertaking nursery trips and other activities outside the child's usual environment through information and guidance given to us by the parents. Considerations are always made with adult to child ratios to meet the needs of the child taking part.
The nursery building is fully wheelchair accessible and we have disabled changing and toilet facilities.
We ensure that staff have been briefed on the child's SEND before they join the nursery through discussions between the nursery manager and with the child's room leader, settling in visits are organised for the children and this ensures the parent has time to discuss their child's needs. We prepare children to move to the next room by arranging visits and the child's keyperson sharing information with the new room. We ensure effective transition from nursery to school by arranging visits to the school with the child's keyperson, taking photographs of the school and displaying them in the nursery. We encourage visits from the class teachers and we ensure that the school receives a summary of the child's acheivements. We communicate with parents prior to the transition by organising an information evening.
SEND policies and procedures are reviewed annually and take into consideration the effectiveness of the nursery's SEND provision.

Parents are encouraged to provide feedback through face to face communication, telephone conversations, emails and questionnaires. We provide information to parents on useful voluntary agencies and support groups through notices and posters displayed in the hallway.
