Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings
At Acres we have a strong team of highly qualified staff with 2 Sencos. Each child has a key person that works closely with them and their family, completing up to date records, including termly reports that track where the child is.
We encourage all parents/carers to come in for parent evenings and to work in partnership with their child's development. When an IEP is in place we ensure that everyone is working with the same goals. We have an open door policy, so if there are any worries about any child we can discuss how we are going to support and go forwards. We encourage parents to use Tapestry as an additional form of communication.
Each child's individual needs are met within the Nursery and Pre-school, working on each child's strengths and interests. We have experienced extra staff within the setting that are able to support one to one activities and work alongside the key person with adapted activities, to meet an individual child's needs.
We would adapt the activities depending on the child's needs and would discuss this within the Nursery with parents/carers, we adopt a graduated approach to help a child's learning and development.
We work with the relevant support services to help each child's individual needs. This includes Educational Psychology Service, Speech and Language Therapist, EDIT team and other settings that the child may attend.
Each child has an online learning journal that is added to on a regular basis. The parents/carers are notified when an observation has been added and we encourage parents to add observations from home. We monitor and observe the children on a daily basis to see areas where a child may need additional support. We have regular parents evenings and encourage the parents to communicate with us should they have any concerns.
At Acres we try to adapt all activities so that they are inclusive to all. We will do a risk assessment on specific activities if required.
We have ramps in place, although we do have some upstairs areas that can only be accessed via the stairs.
When our children move on we encourage the child's next key person/teacher to come and visit us to share information about them. We will also complete and send them a transition/leaving report about the child, this includes their development stages, interests and possible next steps for learning and development.
Feedback from parents is always encouraged, along with any other feedback from professionals that we work partnership with.
Rebecca Pritchard - Nursery Manager. Please give us a call to discuss your child's individual needs and to see if we are the most suitable setting to meet the requirements that you are looking for
We have an open door policy for all and an up to date website. We also have regular newsletters and questionnaires. We love to get feedback from all parents/carers including compliments and complaints.
