Carers Rights Day event 25th November 2021

Each year Carers Rights Day brings organisations together to help carers know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.  Having the right information at the right time can make a huge difference.

Tuvida (Berkshire) Carers Hub will be hosting an event to mark Carers Rights Day. 

The event will take place on Thursday 25th November 2021 in The Catholic Hall, 7 Bath Road, Thatcham RG18 3AG

There will be 2 sessions with the morning event running 10.30am to 12 noon with a talk at 11am -  Katey Bell from  SSEN Energy Advisor Programme, followed by the afternoon session from 1.00pm to 3.00pm (revised time).  There will be a presentation at 2.00pm by Stewart Stretton-Hill from Irwin Mitchell on Wills, Powers of Attorney and Deputyships.

Come along to this free event for information and advice and find out how to get the help and support you are entitled to.  Some of the organisations in attendance on the day are as follows:

West Berkshire Council, Adult Social Care & Young Carers - advice and information

Beechcroft Memory Clinic - support for families and carers following a diagnosis

Healthwatch - patient and public champion for health services and social care

SSEN Energy - information and talk at 11.00am about the additional services provided to vulnerable people and details about signing up to the Priority Services Register

Alternatively the Carers UK website has excellent advice and information to support you in your role as an unpaid carer.

The Community COVID 19 Testing Van will be available in the car park from 10.00am to 2.30pm. Helpful information will be shared about the importance of testing and people will be encouraged to take a free Lateral Flow Test (LFT).  LFT kits will also be distributed.
