West Berkshire Autism Team

The Autism Team supports schools, parents/carers, children and young people following a child or young person’s diagnosis of Autism.

The work may include: 

School Advisors:

Lesley Botchway – Autism Team Coordinator and Secondary Schools Advisor

Sue Granger – Autism Primary Schools Advisor

  • Providing support and guidance for school staff working with autistic pupils
  • Providing training and development for staff, delivered centrally and also in schools
  • Undertaking observation of pupils within their setting
  • Providing written reports and information
  • Support in developing self-help strategies for pupils and also for staff.

Supporting the work of the Autism Team

Providing intensive intervention case work for school staff whilst working with targeted autistic pupils

  • For example: emotional regulation, anxiety and behaviour, anxiety around school
  • To improve outcomes for our autistic pupils to help them reach their potential.

  • Sending out email updates and information.
