Family Activity Morning: Beautiful Butterflies

Decorate the front of a wooden butterfly with pens and paper and then varnish with glue (decoupage) as the Victorians would have done – perhaps even Shaw House’s Mrs Farquhar enjoyed this hobby? You can then attach a magnetic strip to the back of the butterfly and take home to attach to a fridge, freezer or magnetic board. You will be given a craft pack with a wooden butterfly, a magnetic strip, two broad nib felt tip pens, a paintbrush and a piece of patterned tissue paper. Everything is the pack is yours to keep and take home to reuse on other craft activities. There will also be a free outdoor trail themed around historic garden design! Places are limited to 15 children. Session times: 10am, 11am, and 12pm (45 mins) Aimed at 7-11 year olds, but younger and older children are welcome.
