- Referral Details
The Autism Trust deliver 'bespoke training' according to the needs of the individual, this means we do not have restrictions on levels of ability. A referral can be provided by the individual themselves, the parent, or the local authority. During the Induction process, if 1:1 support is deemed necessary, we recommend that you provide one that is already known to the person with autism, however if you wish one to be provided by us, this must be discussed and time allocated for the Trust to employ someone before training can start.
- Other notes
The Autism Trust is a small charity which provides an ASD friendly, real working environment, fostering independence and building work skills for individuals aged 16 years and older, with autism. This is achieved through either work experience sessions, or as appropriate, by the ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) Employability programme https://www.asdan.org.uk/courses/qualifications/employability. Our bespoke training, delivery and environment provides young adults with autism, the opportunity to learn retail, office, manufacturing, photography, social media, hospitality and housekeeping skills. This teaching takes place at the charity training centre and ‘Polly’s Place’, which is a shop and art gallery, selling handcrafted gifts.
