Autism Berkshire Teen Life courses for parents of autistic children aged 10 to 16

Teen Life is a six-session course for parents and carers of autistic young people aged 10 to 16 and accompanying members of school staff who support their children.

It aims to help them to understand more about autistic teenagers, discussing strategies and sharing ideas about how to communicate with and support autistic young people.

Developed by the National Autistic Society with input from parents and autistic young people, the course covers topics including self-esteem, spending time with other people, stress and anxiety, understanding an autism diagnosis, puberty, independence, special interests and education and planning for the future.

We are running two courses in 2020 in Thatcham for parents and carers who are residents of the West Berkshire Council area, as follows:

  • January 27 to March 9 (NB: no session on Monday, February 17, due to half-term).
  • April 20 to June 1.

If you are would like to attend one of these courses, please email an expression of interest and a daytime telephone number to contact@autismberkshire.org.uk and we will contact you for an informal discussion.
