City Arts Newbury - Community Art Hub

Last updated: 17/03/2023
City Arts is a registered charity focussed on the visual arts and community.
Currently offering art & craft workshops for all ages and abilities (including workshops for the whole family), free exhibitions and low cost/affordable community art events.
City Arts are keen to reach out to all sectors of society, including the disadvantaged, elderly and isolated. The charity work with a number of local organisations (eg YOT, i college) in a synergistic way to bring their version of art and community to reality. We are aware of the benefits of visual arts to those wrestling with ill health and mental health issues and strive to ensure as many people as possible have access to these benefits.
City Arts vision is to refurbish our building into a community Art Hub for all with allotment, recycling and other community-centric activities available as well as art-based activities. We were able to use Covid grants to upgrade our facility, putting in skylights, insulation, heating, a disabled toilet and a kitchen area allowing us to open a cafe facility with real barista coffee: Opening Fridays and Saturdays from May 2022
