City Arts Newbury - Community Art Hub

City Arts is a registered charity focussed on the visual arts and community.
Currently offering art & craft workshops for all ages and abilities (including workshops for the whole family), free exhibitions and low cost/affordable community art events.
City Arts are keen to reach out to all sectors of society, including the disadvantaged, elderly and isolated. The charity work with a number of local organisations (eg YOT, i college) in a synergistic way to bring their version of art and community to reality. We are aware of the benefits of visual arts to those wrestling with ill health and mental health issues and strive to ensure as many people as possible have access to these benefits.
City Arts vision is to refurbish our building into a community Art Hub for all with allotment, recycling and other community-centric activities available.

Ground floor accessible to wheelchairs, but toilets not yet accessible to wheelchairs
Currently the building is a pretty basic facility, with workshop, basic kitchen and toilet facilities on the ground floor. There is an upper floor, which the group occasionally use for workshops, so we gather information on mobility etc in the booking process to help us ensure we locate the workshops appropriately.
For now, until our heating is installed, for workshops October onwards it is advisable for participants to wear layers to keep warm.
