Blast Off Holiday Clubs are specialist holiday clubs for the pupils who attend Brookfields School only.
The clubs are staffed by experienced support staff from the school. We offer a varied programme of onsite and offsite activities catering for children and young people.
Onsite activities may include swimming, sport activities, sensory activities, arts/crafts cooking computer games together with visiting entertainers.
Offsite activities may include visits to Outdoor Adventure Centres, theme parks, cinema, bowling, etc.
The clubs run from 10am-4pm.
Application forms are sent directly to pupil’s home addresses from the school office.

Parents are written to inviting them to indicate an expression on interest for their child to attend Holiday Club. There is no guarantee that we would be able to offer parents their choice of days or how many days they would like their child to attend

General Provider
The club is run at Brookfields School. The school is accessible for children who are wheelchair users or who have mobility difficulties. The buildings have accessible show/changing/toilet facilities. For young people with a hearing impairment, some rooms are acoustically treated. The buildings and grounds are also accessible to young people with a visual impairment. Throughout the school there is manual handling equipment and staff working at the club have been trained in Manual Handling.
The young people who are eligible for having a place on the Holiday club must be a pupil at Brookfields School. However, we may not able to support pupils from the school at the Club who have complex medical needs. The Extended Services Manager and Club Leaders work together to determine if we can meet the needs of your child, taking further advice from teachers, Behaviour Support Staff, Sensory Resource staff, school nurses etc
Application forms are sent to families directly from the school. Parents may contact the Extended Services Manager at any time to find out more details about the clubs. Social Care may also request a place for a pupil from Brookfields School.
Applications need to be returned to the school by the date stated on the letter. We aim to get back to parents within 1 month to offer dates at the club
The Clubs are subsidised by the Local Authority and charities. The cost of a place at the Club is available on request. Are children/young people charged for your service? The current charges are: available on request We may able to offer limited free places to those families who have financial constraints. You will be able to indicate on the application form if you wish to be considered for a free place.
If parents have a complaint about the Holiday Club, Brookfields School’s Complaint procedure are followed If parents have any concerns about the Holiday Club, they are encouraged to speak with the Extended Service Manager as soon as possible. Parents will be sent an evaluation sheet where they will be invited to give feedback on the service provided.
All Holiday Club staff are recruited using the Schools Safer Recruitment Policy and procedures. All staff have been trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection. Holiday Club staff are experienced members of Brookfields who have been trained in the support and guidance young people with learning difficulties and additional needs.. The club reports directly to the School Governors.
