Disabled Children's Register

The Disabled Children Register (DCR) is a secure database which aims to capture information about all children and young people aged 0-25 years with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in West Berkshire.  The information that you give us will be used anonymously to show the use of and demand for services in West Berkshire. We will use this information to help us to plan, monitor and develop appropriate facilities and services for disabled children and their families.

The DCR is managed by the West Berkshire Directory. Registering is voluntary but we would like to encourage as many of you as possible to register so that we can get as clear a picture as possible of the needs for services in West Berkshire.

To register you must complete a simple online form which will allow you to provide us with details of your child. We will be able to use your contact details to keep you up-to-date with developments in services and other relevant information for disabled children and young people.

What happens to my information?

You can be confident your details are safe. The Children and Young People’s Disabilities Register is subject to the Data Protection Act 2018. The data from your form is stored securely and separate from any other information held. Only relevant staff at West Berkshire Council will have access to the information you provide. West Berkshire Council may share statistical or general information where it might help with working together to co-ordinate services or improve provision across Berkshire. If any safeguarding issues arise information will have to be shared as appropriate and as necessary with other colleagues.  In such cases you will be informed of this.

You are able to access and update your information on the Children and Young People’s Disabilities Register and the Care Passport at anytime.
