Following Government guidance, where possible, parents must keep their children at home. Early years and childcare settings are closed except for children who are vulnerable, and children whose parents are critical to the coronavirus (COVID-19) response and cannot be safely cared for at home.
The West Berkshire Early Years Service is therefore currently prioritising the needs of critical workers’ and vulnerable children. The Local Authority and our West Berkshire providers are working together to ensure that there are sufficient places for all of these children.
During this time the Early Years Team are also trying to continue supporting families and providers as much as they can. Please contact the team on our usual email:email@example.com but please bear in mind that our replies and turnaround of day to day requests and updates of provider details and registrations are likely to be delayed due to the increased volume of work in the team.
If you are a critical worker looking for childcare or a provider looking for alternatives for your families please contact the team on the above email address or you can search for open providers on the West Berkshire Directory
The government has produced guidance for local authorities, early years providers and childminders about childcare provision following the outbreak of corona virus.
